Problematic Topic?
The base topic I chose for this project was internet addiction. A lot of people—parents specifically—have come forward in recent years to place the blame of their loved one's behaviours on the addiction of online connectivity. There's a lot of information available to break down this topic so the question is, "why choose porn?"
Porn addiction and the porn industry has largely been swept under the rug in the midst of these allegations due to its wide exposure and normalization. People have become more desensitized to the topic since everybody watches porn—even if they try to convince you they don't.
Ready to risk it all?
Despite the fact, it remains a relatively taboo subject matter. For example, I would not recommend using it as a conversation starter or openly discuss it with people you've just met.
So the answer is, my curiosity got the best of me. I wanted to know for myself the effects of porn addiction. Can it be as scary or as deadly as its related addiction?
In this project, I do a deep dive into the controversial world of pornography and how its reach has affected those who are more easily suggestible.
